Rosa Scapaticci was born in Naples, Italy, in 1985. In March 2010, she received the Laurea degree (summa cum laude) in Biomedical Engineering from the  "Federico II" University of Naples. In December 2010, she started her PhD studies at the "Mediterranea" University of Reggio Calabria. Since December 2013, she is a   Research Fellow at the Institute of Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment, National Research Council of Italy (IREA-CNR), Naples.

The scientific interests of Rosa Scapaticci are mainly focused on the development of innovative approaches for the solution of electromagnetic scattering problems, particularly in the framework of biomedical microwave imaging, and therapeutic applications of electromagnetic fields.

In 2013, Rosa Scapaticci has been awarded by IEEE - Antennas and Propagation Society Central and Southern Italy Chapter for the best Student Member paper, while in September 2014 she received the Barzilai Award from the Italian Society of Electromagnetics.

Currently, she is a participant of COST Actions IC1102 VISTA (Versatile, Integrated, and Signal-aware Technologies for Antennas) and TD1301 (Development of a European based Collaborative Network to Accelerate Technological, Clinical and Commercialization Progress in the Area of Medical Microwave Imaging).
