Design and realization of ultrashort pulses generators and systems for cell culture exposure

The possibility to investigate the effects of ultrashort pulses at cellular and subcellular level is strictly related to the availability of highly controlled and flexible pulse generators, allowing to vary exposure conditions (duration, amplitude, pulse frequency) over a wide range. In this context, the activity at IREA, in cooperation with the Department of Information Engineering of Second University of Naples, is focused on designing and realization of networks for the generation of electric pulses of variable amplitude, duration and frequency. These generation systems are interfaced with specific delivery systems for cell cultures exposure, allowing real time biological assays during pulse exposure and at different  time after exposure.
